We have some amazingly creative customers who send us recipes using NOATMEALS. This Shrimp and Naked Noatmeals "Grits" just blew us away. We made it in our Noatmeals Kitchen and everybody loved it!
For the no corn grits:
1 package Naked Noatmeals
Dash of sea salt
1 cup chicken bone broth
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese
Bay leaf
Bring the chicken bone broth, bay leaf and Naked Noatmeals to boil. Cook until thickened. Remove from heat add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1/4 C sharp cheddar cheese. Stir gently and cover.
For the shrimp:
5 slices of bacon cut in 1-2 inch pieces
2 cloves garlic chopped
1/2 tsp paprika
Black pepper
3 dashes Worcestershire
3 dashes Tabasco hot sauce
1tsp of lemon juice
5 - 10 shrimp deveined and shells removed
DIRECTIONS:
Cook the bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Remove to drain. Leave about 1-2 TBS of bacon fat in the pan. Sprinkle black pepper on the shrimp and add the shrimp to the hot pan with the bacon fat. Cook shrimp on medium heat until pink and beginning to curl. About 3 minutes. Stir in the garlic, paprika, Worcestershire, tobacco and lemon juice. Cook until shrimp are cooked. About 1-2 minutes.
Plate the Noatmeals removing the bay leaf and top with shrimp. Pour the sauce from the pan over the Noatmeals and shrimp and crumble bacon on top. Add more hot sauce as desired.
